Help & FAQ

Everything you need to know about Art Monster

Getting Started

How do I upload artwork?
Tap the upload zone on your dashboard or the + button in the Gallery tab. You can select multiple images at once. After uploading, a quick-tag modal will appear where you can set the title, status, and add the artwork to collections.
How do I organize artwork into collections?
There are three ways: 1) Tag collections when you first upload, 2) Go to a collection and tap "Add from Gallery" to select existing artworks, 3) In the Gallery, tap "Select," check multiple artworks, then tap the folder icon to add them to a collection.
What artwork statuses are available?
Work in Progress, For Sale, Sold, Not for Sale, and Archived. You can set the status when uploading, or change it later by tapping on an artwork and hitting the edit button. You can also bulk-change status using Select mode in the Gallery.

Time Tracking

How does the time tracker work?
Tap "Log Time" on your dashboard to record studio sessions. Enter hours and minutes, optionally link it to a specific artwork, and add a note. Your streak counts consecutive days with logged time — like Duolingo but for art.
What counts toward my streak?
Any time logged on a given day counts. Even 1 minute of logged studio time keeps your streak alive. The streak tracks consecutive days, so if you miss a day, it resets to zero.

Managing Artworks

What happens when I delete an artwork?
Deleting an artwork removes it from your gallery and all collections immediately. However, your image is not permanently deleted right away — Art Monster keeps it safe for 30 days in case you change your mind.

During that 30-day window, contact us at support@artmonster.app with the artwork title and we can restore it for you.

After 30 days, the image is permanently removed from our servers and cannot be recovered. Deleting an artwork also removes it from any collections and consignment records it belonged to.
Can I recover an artwork I deleted by accident?
Yes — within 30 days of deletion. Email support@artmonster.app as soon as possible with your account email, the artwork title, and approximately when you deleted it. We can restore it with all details intact.

After 30 days, the image is permanently removed and recovery is no longer possible.

Account & Data

Is my artwork data private?
Yes. Your artwork images and all personal data are completely private. Only you can see your content. We don't share, sell, or use your data for advertising.
How do I delete my account?
Open the menu (hamburger icon on your dashboard), scroll to the bottom, and tap "Delete Account." You'll be asked to confirm twice. This permanently deletes all your artworks, collections, time tracking data, and account information. This action cannot be undone.
What image formats are supported?
JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF are all supported. Maximum file size is 20MB per image. Art Monster automatically generates a compressed thumbnail (600px on the longest side) for fast loading in your gallery — your original file is always stored at full resolution. For the best display quality, upload images that are at least 1500px on the longest side. Phone camera photos work great straight from your camera roll.
What photo quality should I upload for best results?
Resolution: Aim for at least 1500px on the longest side. Most modern smartphone cameras shoot well above this by default (iPhone 15, for example, shoots at 4032 × 3024px), so your camera roll photos will look great.

File size: 20MB max per image. A high-quality JPEG from a smartphone is typically 3–8MB, which is ideal. RAW files from DSLRs are usually too large and should be exported as JPEG first.

Format tips: JPEG is best for paintings and photos — it compresses well without visible loss at high quality settings. PNG is better for digital art with flat colors or transparency. WebP gives the smallest file sizes with excellent quality.

What Art Monster does: A 600px thumbnail is auto-generated on upload for fast gallery loading. Your full-resolution original is kept in secure cloud storage and shown when you open an individual artwork. No quality is lost on your stored file.
